Day Lewis pharmacy assistant wins £19k disability discrimination payout

An employment tribunal has ordered Day Lewis to pay a pharmacy assistant almost £20,000 for dismissing her after “period of sickness absence”.

An employment tribunal last month (January 3) found that Mrs A L Baker should be awarded £18,746.13 in compensation after her employer Day Lewis dismissed her and failed to follow its probationary policy “in consequence of disability”.
