Pharmacy2U has seen its pre-tax losses increase by 68% for the year ending March 31 2025, the online pharmacy’s company accounts have revealed.
It said the company’s pre-tax losses sat at £5.7m at the end of the 2024/25 tax year, compared to £3.4m the previous year.
This represents a profit decline of more than £2.3m, or 68%.

Revenue, however, also rose by 68% in 2025, increasing to £334m from £199m the year before, the filing said.
This increase was “driven by continued investment in marketing to attract new patients at a reduced cost per registration”, along with “growth of the Online Doctor business”, it added.
The business has also “grown rapidly” due to “focus on providing an excellent patient and customer experience”, it said.
“A number of risks”
The filing acknowledged that the business is “subject to a number of risks”, primarily concerning the “difficult macroeconomic environment” in which it is “currently operating”.
But it noted that the management team is “very encouraged by the government’s announcements on long term NHS strategy which focuses on increased funding” and an “increased focus on prevention”.
It also added that Pharmacy2U’s “reliance on NHS funding” had been “mitigated by significant growth in private prescriptions” in the 2024/25 year.

The filing concluded that the company is “well positioned to continue growth of the core NHS repeat prescription business” which will help drive “future operational efficiencies”.
It highlighted that the number of NHS prescription items dispatched from the online pharmacy increased by 64%, growing from almost 19m in 2024 to over 31.2m in 2025.
And it said the “number of patients nominated to Pharmacy2U” also increased, rising by 87% to 1.5m in 2025.
“Patient-centric”
Pharmacy2U were approached for comment and pointed C+D to the director’s statement in the Companies House filing.
It said “the company’s vision is to be a patient-centric digital healthcare provider, enabling patients and customers to access exceptional healthcare whenever and wherever they need it”.
And it added that Pharmacy2U has “consistently invested in industry-leading automation which provides significant operational capacity and improves operating costs”.
