Allied Pharmacies has acquired almost 70 more Jhoots pharmacies following its takeover of dozens of branches in November, the company this week announced.
It said that its purchase of a further 68 ex-Jhoots branches brings the total number of pharmacies taken over from the chain to 129.

Allied Pharmacies said the move “comes at a time when the sector continues to face structural challenges” and it is “committed to playing a stabilising role by investing in sustainable models of care”.
It added that the company is “focused on bringing these pharmacies back to full operational capacity as quickly as possible to safeguard patient care” - while “also acknowledging the former Jhoots employees for their commitment and resilience during this challenging time”.

“We want to assure them that they will receive the same consideration and care as those supported during the earlier acquisition of pharmacies this year,” it said.

It comes after C+D exclusively revealed in November that more than half of the Jhoots branches Allied Pharmacies had taken over earlier that month were trading again.
The company said at the time that 33 of the 61 ex-Jhoots branches it bought had been reopened, and it had access to 12 more that it expected to have up and running in a matter of days.
