First ‘whistling’ inhaler mask available on prescription
Medical device manufacturer Clement Clarke International (CCI) has launched a mask for children to perfect their inhaler technique.
The Able Spacer, which is available on prescription from this month, sounds a whistle when the child has mastered their technique and the mask is fitted correctly, CCI said.
The whistle function also reassures parents and carers that the asthma medication is being delivered, it claimed.
The Able Spacer comes with a free animated app game, which children can play to help them “accept having a mask”, the manufacturer added.
The product retails at £10.06 excluding VAT, and is available at £7.16 at a trade price.
