The National Prescribing Centre (NPC) is set to become a Nice workstream from April as the two organisations merge, NPC chief executive Clive Jackson announced. The merger, part of the government's quango shake-up, will see the NPC continue to deliver projects such as its revised list of key therapeutic topics, published last month as part of the government's quality, innovation, productivity and prevention (QIPP) agenda. The merger would help further align recommended guidance with prescribing advice, and increase support offered by the NHS, Mr Jackson said. Mr Jackson and NPC director of corporate affairs Rose Milnes will leave in April as the roles will not exist after the merger.
