Durex has partnered with the National Aids Trust (NAT) to launch a website that includes a CPD tool and is designed to help healthcare professionals improve their knowledge about HIV.
Professionals can use the CPD tool to test and improve their knowledge about the condition and download a certificate showing they have completed the course. The course covers information about HIV diagnosis and treatment, as well as social and work issues that could arise for patients.
The website, available at durexhcp.co.uk/hivtoday, follows the launch of a resource offering information to patients about HIV earlier this year (C+D, October 8, p12). The website includes a section of frequently asked questions that pharmacists might be asked about HIV. "Pharmacists [have been] asked if patients' drugs would interact with HIV medication and if HIV patients needed a flu jab," explained NAT chief executive Deborah Jack. HF
