Alphega offers chronic medication service support
Alphega Pharmacy is offering members in Scotland additional support for the implementation of the chronic medication service.
A guide has been developed for pharmacists, desinged to give them the confidence to begin to deliver the service, according to Alphega.
The chronic medication service was launched in May and pharmacists have until the end of this month to register for the service.
It allows patients with long-term conditions to register with a pharmacy of their choice, for the provision of shared pharmacutical care.
Alphega Pharmacy pharmacist consultant Rachel Marchant said: “I would really encourage independent pharmacists to get behind chronic medication service, as not only does it benefit patients on long-term medication with the management of their medicines, but it also provides their pharmacy with a great income stream, advancing the personalised service and professional healthcare profile of local independent pharmacies.”
She added that Alphega could answer any queries members may have about the service.
