APTUK president Tess Fenn explains why she's stepping down

The president of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) has explained to C+D why she will step down at the end of 2018, after serving two terms.

Tess Fenn was elected APTUK president in 2014 and re-elected in 2016. This year will mark Ms Fenn’s 48th as a pharmacy technician, having spent the majority of her career at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Ms Fenn made the announcement at the APTUK annual conference in Glasgow on Sunday (June 17).

She told C+D now is the “right time to hand the role over to someone else” (watch the video below for more).

Ms Fenn received a standing ovation from delegates at the conference and an outpouring of support on social media for her work in promoting the profession during her time as president.

The APTUK board will now begin the process of recruiting her replacement, she said.
