Baby formula has new ingredient
Mead Johnson Nutrition has added a new ingredient to its baby formula products for children with cow’s milk allergy.
Nutramigen with LGG, previously sold as Nutramigen LIPIL, now contains the probiotic lactobacillus rhamnosus GG. The addition of this ingredient is designed to “accelerate” tolerance of cow’s milk among allergic children, it said.
The milk alternative relaunched this month in two forms. Nutrimagen 1 is suitable for babies from birth, while Nutramigen 2 is “tailored to meet the nutritional needs” of children aged six months and older “as part of a varied diet”, Mead Johnson Nutrition said.
The NHS list price for a 400g tin of either Nutramigen 1 with LGG or Nutramigen 2 with LGG is £10.87, it added.
