C+D editor Beth Kennedy has been named one of the Professional Publishers Association’s (PPA) 30 “rising stars” under the age of 30 across business and consumer media.

The annual PPA 30 Under 30 awards recognise upcoming talent within the UK media landscape, highlighting “outstanding efforts and achievements” by journalists, editors and other media professionals across business and consumer publications.

Ms Kennedy, who became C+D's editor in February this year, was praised by the judges of the prestigious award for convincing them with her entry "that she is working from the best [business to business media] editors’ playbook”.

"The sector Beth is in is not the easiest to get to grips with, but she has done just that”, the judges added.

Commenting on her win, Ms Kennedy said: "It's a huge honour to receive this award, which was only made possible because of the talent and determination of the whole C+D team."

This year’s PPA 30 Under 30 awards judges included manging director of The Economist Group Asif Chaudhury; head of publishing at BBC Studios Mandy Thwaites; publishing director at British Vogue Vanessa Kingori; executive editor (digital) at Elle magazine Natasha Bird; and commercial director of the London Review of Books Renee Doegar, among others.

The PPA said the awards “shine a light” on the talent of rising media stars in the UK, emphasising the hard work of its “class of 2020” 30 Under 30 winners and the importance of “rewarding and celebrating” this.

Ms Kennedy originally joined C+D as a reporter in 2014, before becoming deputy features editor in 2016. After leaving the publication later in 2016, she rejoined as editor earlier this year.
