C+D readers reported a morning of anxiety yesterday as difficulties downloading electronic prescriptions were compounded because it was the last day of month.
Cegedim Rx told C+D today that it had resolved the issue experienced by “some” customers in England by 2.50pm. But the systems supplier was then alerted that a “much smaller number” of pharmacies were “impacted by a secondary electronic prescription service (EPS) issue caused by a further firewall problem”.
It informed these customers at 8.30pm that this issue had been fixed and “critical care monitoring continued throughout the night”.
Cegedim Rx apologised to affected pharmacies, adding: “We are closely monitoring the service this morning and have seen no further issues.”
“Investigations continue with our suppliers to ensure we understand the root cause of this problem [and] prevent future reoccurrences,” it added.
