PSNC needs to sort this out. Currently Naproxen 500mg is £8.50 or more per pack of 28 from wholesalers. We do not know when the concession will be granted and at what price. We mad a loss on every Latanoprost prescription last month as we could not buy it below £9.50. Also amount of lines which are not available and time taken to fax out prescription so we can get Madopar etc. is taking at lease an hour a day. The cutbacks could only be managed by reducing staff so the burden is growing every day from every angle.

Take a tip from the multiples - they are simply out of stock and direct all these loss making scripts to independants.

PSNC have time to discuss Brexit issues with DH but no time to emphasise this dire situation of drug pricing. Seriously someone capable needs to unite the profession and form a group that can get answers from DH. There’s not much time.

In addition to other comments on availability, how can you manage you business if you don't know if you will be reimbursed?
Really? Wow, Superintendent Pharmacist
I think someone needs to show where these medicines are available at these prices?! I use more than 7 wholesalers, in two buying groups and shop around on top... and for most of these I have not been able to find prices near these at all.
PSNC just need to say no...!

Why are the PSNC not causin an almighty fuss about how the DoH is deliberately (possibly) granting concession prices at way below what we are paying for them......oops forgot that the PSNC is about as useful as a one legged man at an arse kicking contest......is that politically incorrect?????... will this post get moderated????????????

can someone please let me know where i can get naproxen at concession prices...either i am not an astute buyer or i have nor got enough wholesaler accounts( 7 and counting) to look around and get stocks at this price
From what I have been told the price is taken accross the month as an average depending on what contractors have reported using the PSNC online generic price reporting tool e.g. if naproxen 500 was £5 per pack at the start of the month and is now £10 then they will give a concession price of £7.50. It is not a snap shot of this moment in time.
I know the system stinks but I'm just relaying what I have been told by the PSNC. If we don't report prices using the online tool then they have no evidence to negotiate a good concession price.
