Robber threatens Kent pharmacy employee with spray can
A spray canister-wielding man left empty-handed after attempting to rob Borno Chemists in Herne Bay, say Kent Police
A prospective robber threatened a Kent pharmacy employee with a spray canister, Kent Police have said.
The man walked into Borno Chemists on Station Road, Herne Bay just before 7pm on October 2 and threatened the female employee with a canister containing an unknown substance. He demanded cash from the till and sprayed the canister "towards her face", Kent Police told C+D last Friday (October 9).
The robber ran into the back of the pharmacy and escaped through the back exit "empty-handed", while the employee's colleagues rang the police, police said. They are investigating the contents of the spray can, police added.
The robber is described as being in his late thirties or early forties, with "mousey brown hair and a mousey brown or ginger goatee", police said. He was wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans and a high-visibility vest, they said.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information should phone Kent Police on 01843 222 289, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting crime reference ZY/030923/15, they said.
