NPA secures three-year backing from Day Lewis
Day Lewis, the UK's largest independent multiple pharmacy chain, has backed the National Pharmacy Association (NPA), signing a three-year membership deal with the organisation.
The deal, which is the first time Day Lewis has signed up to a three-year arrangement with the NPA, will see the independent multiple using the association's indemnity insurance offer as well as receiving its services and support.

Rowlands Pharmacy leaves NPA insurance scheme in favour of Numark |
The news follows Rowlands Pharmacy's announcement that it had moved from NPA Insurance to Numark's indemnity insurance scheme last month – the multiple and support group are both part of the Phoenix Group. NPA chief executive Mike Holden said "more and more" members were favouring three-year arrangements with the association. "It gives them a greater degree of certainty about services and support that they value when so much else is changing," he said. "Day Lewis has a lot in common with the NPA – roots in independent community pharmacy but resources to make an impact on a large scale," said Day Lewis chief executive Kirit Patel. |
"We also share a common vision for community pharmacy and how it can be achieved in spite of the many pressures on the sector," he added.
Last year, Mr Patel outlined an ambitious growth plan that could see the group owning 200 pharmacies by the end of 2012 and doubling in size in the next decade.
