Oxycodone branded generic could cut NHS costs, says Actavis
Actavis has launched a branded generic version of oxycodone, which it believes could generate cost-savings for the NHS.
Lynlor Capsules launched earlier this month and could potentially cost the NHS 30 per cent less than original brand OxyNorm, Actavis claimed. The manufacturer stressed that its product was bioequivalent to OxyNorm.
Oxycodone is indicated for the treatment of severe pain that can only be adequately managed with opioid analgesics.
Lynlor Capsules are available in packs of 56 capsules at strengths of 5mg, 10mg or 20mg. NHS list prices start at £8 for a pack of 5mg tablets.
