Two-thirds of contact lens wearers with dry eye disease feel embarrassed about their condition, according to eye treatment supplier Scope Group.

Almost half of contact wearers with the disease are forced to take frequent breaks at work because of the discomfort, while one in 10 have had to change career because of their symptoms, according to research commissioned by the supplier.

The results come from an online survey of 250 patients with the disease conducted in August 2015 by research company Censuswide.
