Sign up to revised PharmOutcomes database this weekend or lose your records

Practice Contractors have until midnight on Sunday April 7 to sign up to use the revised PharmOutcomes database or risk losing their data and records, PSNC has warned

Contractors need to sign up to use the revised PharmOutcomes database by midnight on Sunday (April 7) or risk losing data and records saved on the old system, PSNC has warned today (April 5).

The original PharmOutcomes service will end next week (April 10), with the updated version already live and giving contractors access to the contract workbook and enhanced services modules, the negotiator said.

Guidance for downloading the data is available on the PSNC website

Pharmacy bodies call for 'radical simplification' of information governance

Contractors need to accept the new user agreement at the original PharmOutcomes platform www.pharmabase.org.uk by the end of Sunday to have all their data – including patient information, service claims and audit reports – transferred to the revised system.

Pharmacists who do not sign up by the deadline will be able to log in to the new system but will not be able to access any data or service records they entered on the old system, PSNC warned.

PSNC has advised contractors to save copies of any data they have saved in the old system before it is switched off. It has also recommended that contractors download copies of their NMS data because it will not be transferred to the new system, yet needs to be kept for two years from the date of completion of the service as part of NHS contractual arrangements.

Pharmacists can access all their data after April 10 at www.pharmoutcomes.org by signing in with their existing username and credentials.

PSNC announced in November last year that it would be scrapping the LPC levy for the database this month, following some contractors' refusal to fund it.

The revised system will require payment only by those LPCs, commissioners and contractors who wish to use it.

The revised database will include a national template for common enhanced services and allow real-time performance management of services, according to PSNC.

Guidance for downloading the data is available on the PSNC website.
