In September 2017, C+D exclusively revealed that detailed proposals for pharmacy technicians to supervise the supply of prescription-only medicine had been drafted on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care (DH) programme board tasked with “rebalancing” medicines legislation.

The Medical Journalists’ Association announced yesterday (May 31) that C+D’s coverage has been shortlisted in the 'News Story of the Year (specialist audience)' category at the organisation’s awards later this month.

C+D’s exposé drew hundreds of comments from readers on the website and social media, and eventually prompted the DH to “go back to square one”.

Further award nominations

Earlier this month, the Professional Publishers Association revealed that C+D is up for two awards at its upcoming ceremony. The magazine is nominated for 'Digital Innovation of the Year' and C+D editor James Waldron is shortlisted for 'Editor of the Year (business media)'.

Next Monday (June 4), the C+D team will be attending the British Society of Magazine Editors annual awards to see if they can scoop the prizes for 'Best Content Idea – Digital' for C+D’s crime in pharmacies investigation, and 'New Editor' for Mr Waldron.

C+D is also nominated for four Association of Online Publishing awards, with the ceremony due to take place in London on June 27. C+D has been nominated in the following categories:

• Digital Sales Person of the Year – Dan Linton.
