C+D Awards 2019 – full shortlist announced
C+D has revealed the full shortlist for its twelfth annual awards, taking place in London on June 6.
A 31-strong independent panel of judges whittled down 155 entries into a list of finalists across 14 categories.
This year saw the return of the Above and Beyond Award, which attracted entrants from across pharmacy, keen to showcase how they went the extra mile – sometimes literally – for their patients or the sector.
C+D readers will have the opportunity to vote online for the story of going ‘above and beyond’ which they feel is most deserving of the trophy. Stories this time around include the driver who rescued a patient from severe gas poisoning and the locum pharmacist who managed to source and ferry specialist baby milk 150 miles across the country during heavy snow.
Alongside perennial favourites, such as Community Pharmacist of the Year and Pharmacy Team of the Year, locum pharmacists and pharmacy staff were – for the first time – recognised in their own category, the Locum of the Year Award, which was introduced for 2019.
C+D editor James Waldron said: “With more than 150 entries this year, the judges had a real challenge whittling them down to a shortlist.
“The feedback we kept on receiving was how high the calibre of entries was – a feat made even more impressive when you consider the workforce and financial challenges many pharmacies are facing.
“On behalf of C+D, I want to extend my thanks to everyone who took the time to enter and judge the awards this year, and look forward to celebrating with you all at the event.”
The winners will receive their trophies during the ceremony at the glamorous Intercontinental O2 Hotel in London, on June 6.
