C+D news editor Grace Lewis was crowned Pharmacy Writer of the Year, with judges commending her investigation into the extent and severity of crime that pharmacists and their staff are facing across the UK.

Deputy editor Lilian Anekwe picked up the Best Investigative Feature award for her work uncovering what happened to NHS England’s community pharmacy 'Call to Action', which was launched in 2013 but seemingly disappeared without trace.

Ms Anekwe had previously picked up the Best Investigative Feature trophy at last year’s ceremony, for her work to exclusively reveal how many clinical commissioning groups are scrapping repeat dispensing schemes to save cash.

Commenting on the award wins, C+D editor James Waldron said: “For C+D to once again take home the trophies for Pharmacy Writer and Best Investigative Feature is testament to the incredible work Lilian and Grace – alongside the whole team – do to shed light on the experiences of grassroots pharmacists every day.”

This year’s awards – which annually search for the very best writers in the pharmacy trade press – was held at the Royal College of Physicians in London, which this year celebrates its 500^th anniversary.
