Following a fatal gas explosion within the area, the Cranston Medipharmacy team came to the rescue to ensure each and every member of the community was looked after like family – despite an already steep workload. They worked closely with local surgeries and other community pharmacies that had been forced to close to provide same-day blister pack trays, emergency supplies and toiletries to the community.

After the explosion, local residents surrounding the pharmacy in Thornton Heath were emergency evacuated from their homes. Medipharmacy’s senior management team relocated staff from other branches to help pitch in to cover the extra workload. Within the space of half an hour, they saw an influx of patients who were upset and desperately needed their medicines for their vulnerable family members as they had forgotten them while being evacuated.

The senior management team delivered the blister pack trays on the same day to the local town hall and patients’ homes and took the time to explain their blister pack trays and to provide reassurance that everything was okay.

In the days following the explosion, our team continued to issue emergency supplies to patients in need and also ensured that patients who needed deliveries in more distant areas continued to be delivered to.
