Technicians supervising pharmacies: it's time to have your say
C+D will be hosting a roundtable debate on controversial plans to allow pharmacy technicians to supervise medicine supply in the absence of a pharmacist.
Earlier this year, C+D exclusively published detailed proposals for pharmacy technicians to be handed legal responsibility for supervising the supply of prescription-only medicines (POMs), which had been submitted to a Department of Health programme board.
Following the coverage, C+D will be bringing together some prominent names in the sector in a roundtable discussion next Tuesday (November 28) to consider what impact the leaked proposals have had on the sector, and discover where pharmacists and pharmacy technicians really stand when it comes to the supervision of pharmacies.
But first, we need to find out what C+D readers think. Whether you are a pharmacist or a pharmacy technician, please complete the six-question survey below to contribute to the discussion – the results will be revealed as part of Tuesday's debate.
Are you in favour of allowing pharmacy technicians to supervise medicines supply in principle?
